Terms of service
Effective October 20, 2026
In short: setting up and rehearsing is free; you pay per ceremony to go live; you own your graduates’ data and we use it only to run your ceremonies; always rehearse before the big day.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you (or the organisation you sign up for) and dnode, which provides GradCall. By creating an account or using GradCall you agree to them. If you sign up for an organisation, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. Accounts and your team
- Keep passwords private. Each person should have their own account; invite them from the Team page.
- The account owner controls who is on the team and what role they have, and is responsible for what happens in the account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
3. Your content and graduates’ data
- You own the graduate lists, logos, recordings and other content you add (“your content”).
- You give us permission to store and process your content only to provide GradCall to you, as described in the privacy policy.
- You confirm you have the right to share your content with us, including any notices or consents your school needs to give graduates.
- You can export or delete your content at any time by asking us.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use GradCall to break the law, upload content you don’t have rights to, impersonate anyone, send unwanted email, try to access other customers’ data, or interfere with the service or its security.
5. Prices and payment
- Creating an account, importing graduates, designing the lower third, hearing voice samples and rehearsing are free.
- Generating every name and running a live ceremony is paid per ceremony, at the price shown before you pay. Prices depend on the number of graduates and are shown in Canadian dollars for Canadian organisations and US dollars elsewhere, plus any applicable taxes.
- If a ceremony grows past its size, you pay the difference to move up.
- If you cancel before any names are generated for a paid ceremony, we’ll refund the payment in full. After names are generated, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms.
6. Live events
GradCall is built for live ceremonies and keeps working through short network drops, but live events also depend on venue internet, your equipment and third-party services we don’t control. Run a rehearsal before every ceremony using the checklist in GradCall, and have a plan for reading names aloud if something outside our control fails.
7. Third-party services
Voices are generated by providers such as ElevenLabs and OpenAI, and pronunciation can vary. That’s why graduates can check their own name and your crew approves the voice before every name is generated.
8. Changes and availability
We improve GradCall regularly and may change features. We won’t make changes that remove core functionality from a ceremony you’ve already paid for. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service or other customers at risk.
9. Disclaimers
Apart from what these terms say, GradCall is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to GradCall is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using GradCall and ask us to close your account at any time. We may end this agreement with notice if you seriously break these terms. Sections 3, 9, 10 and 12 continue after it ends.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above and tell account owners by email before significant changes take effect.
